Our Mission

BPS’s goal is to lead the way in restoring Texas’s water infrastructure. We are desperately in need for an updated water system but due to financial constraints; the state and its municipalities cannot afford to do it by themselves. Through public and private partnerships BPS hopes to drive this much-needed revival. With a decentralized approach, we can insure that every Texan has nontoxic drinking water.

What's Wrong with Our Infrastructure?

  • The levels of chromium 6 in Houston's tap water rank the 3rd highest of any major city in the nation, according to a 2016 analysis of federal data from the Environmental Working Group.

    • Houston Chronicle

  • Despite mounting evidence of its toxic effects, the EPA has not set a legal limit for chromium 6 in tap water nationally and does not require water utilities to test for it.

    • EWG.org

  • Chromium 6 has been linked to liver damage, stomach cancer, reproductive and developmental difficulty, as well as skin irritation and dermatitis.

    • EWG.org

  • Houston’s drinking water also contains arsenic (2 parts per billion) and lead (4 parts per billion). (Recommended levels are not to exceed 1 part per billion)

  • Houston’s aging infrastructure is reducing public confidence in municipal drinking water.

    • It is no coincidence that Houston's water is tainted, we are down the street from the chemical capital of America

    • We are also the Oil and Natural gas capital of the world, with an extreme concentration of refineries (3 of the top 10 oil refineries are in Galveston/Baytown area)

    • Some neighborhoods are affected worse than others, Alief for instance is ground zero for poor water quality due to its history of landfills. Other neighborhoods may be similarly affected.

  • Drinking bottled water won't fix the problem

    • Most people use tap water for cooking, cleaning, showering, etc - still allowing the toxic chemicals to be ingested

    • Chemicals can seep through the plastics of the bottles and into the water.

    • Water bottles are unsustainable, eventually ending up in the oceans and waterways further polluting our water supply.

How do we Improve Our Water?

BPS helps restore the tap water through an analysis of the property and a determination of what type of water system is needed (There is no one size fits all). Our plumbers with over 30 years experience will remove and install new plumbing systems to ensure that your drinking water is chromium 6, arsenic, and lead free.

What exactly needs to be done depends on the location and the property. Whether that be:

  1. Installing a specialized water filtration system that filters out toxic chemicals that over the counter filters can’t (Including refrigeration filters).

  2. Replacing faucets and other fixtures with lead free material

  3. Removing lead and other harmful materials from the piping.

  4. Regular Maintenance and Testing to ensure that you continue to provide safer water for your family, customers and community.

Why Would it be Beneficial?

Water, our most essential resource has been under appreciated by our society for too long. It is a tragedy that the wealthiest civilization in the history of the world does not have safe tap water.

With clean water, we can:

  • Provide an environment that is safe for our children’s development

  • Increase life expectancy by decreasing cancer rates and preventing other diseases

  • Eliminate the need for plastic bottles that pollute our environment.

  • Assure that we are getting sufficient nutrients for our bodies

  • Provide better tasting water for your guests and customers
